Beatrijs Gielen
Beatrijs advises domestic and multinational clients across various sectors on all aspects of Belgian and EU competition law.
Her expertise includes cartel investigations, distribution agreements, abuse of dominance, and State aid matters. Beatrijs represents clients before the Belgian and European competition authorities and courts, and has experience with damages claims arising from competition law infringements.
Beatrijs assists clients in establishing compliance programmes and delivering training. In merger control, she supports clients with obtaining clearance from the Belgian Competition Authority and the European Commission, as well as coordinating filings in multiple jurisdictions.
She also advises on market practices and consumer law, including drafting and reviewing contractual clauses and commercial agreements.
Beatrijs has a particular focus on the life sciences and healthcare sectors.
She is a member of the Harvard Club of Belgium and several professional organisations, including Etion and VSMR (Association for the Study of Competition Law).
Since 2010, Beatrijs has been admitted to the New York Bar.
